📍 Destination Overview
Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca), a Peruvian Andes peak whose mineral oxidation made rainbow stripes, lies south-east of Cusco at about 5,200 metres, one of the most popular treks of recent years. Oxidised iron paints it in red, orange, yellow, green and purple against the highland sky. The trail crosses wild plateau past alpaca herds to a viewpoint over this great 'band of colour'.
