Introduction
The Biomuseo, Panama's museum of natural history, stands at the entrance to the Amador Causeway on the Pacific side of the Panama Canal, and is a well-known landmark of Panama City. Designed by the celebrated architect Frank Gehry, it has a striking folded, multicoloured roof and is his first work in Latin America. The museum takes the formation of the Isthmus of Panama and its biodiversity as its theme, using eight galleries to tell how this land bridge joined North and South America and reshaped global ecology. Displays combine specimens, models and interactive exhibits and suit families. Close to the canal and causeway with open views, it pairs well with nearby sights; allow about two hours.
